Job Description
The Accounting Manager position is a full-time mid-level position that is responsible for managing the accounting and bookkeeping team, organizing accounting processes and communicating with clients. The successful candidate will be a demonstrated leader and a self-starter that enjoys working in a fast-paced and growing environment, has excellent communication skills and is proactive in all aspects of their role.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Reviewing client accounts on a weekly or monthly basis;
- Managing bookkeepers, payroll clerks and A/P clerks to ensure client books are up-to-date;
- Communicating with clients about their financial performance and/or answering any questions they may have;
- Preparing year-end financial packages for tax filing;
- Providing guidance on complex accounting topics for both IFRS and ASPE;
- Providing client and client feedback to Partners;
- Reconciling CRA accounts, including RP, RC and RT accounts;
- Preparation of personal and corporate tax returns;
- Responding to CRA reviews, audits and enquiries on behalf of clients;
- Providing responses to external auditors on behalf of clients for any review engagements or independent audits;
- Establish and monitor financial systems in accounting systems like Quickbooks Online;
- Meet client reporting deadlines;
- Prepare financial forecasts and budgets on behalf of clients;
- Track Key Performance Indicators (“KPIs”) on behalf of clients; and
- Any other accounting task that may arise.
Qualifications
- Post-Secondary Degree in Accounting from a recognized Canadian Education Institution (College or University);
- Minimum 5 years experience working at an accounting firm (CPA or non-CPA firm) in financial accounting and taxation;
- Possess a CPA designation with CPA Ontario and currently be in good standing;
- Fluent in English;
- Proficient in Microsoft 365;
- Experience working in Quickbooks Online;
- Experience with corporate and personal tax returns (minimum 2 years); and
- Ability to commute to our Vaughan Office everyday.
Pay Range
$90,000 - $110,000 / Year. 40 hours a week.
