Job Description:
- Prepare & oversee bookkeeping and accounting of AR, AP and general ledger for various brands within the Group
- Prepare monthly financial reports in accordance with Canadian GAAP Standards
- Monitor/manage cash flow & coordinate all relationships with banks and identify any cash flow needs immediately with Financial Controller
- Manage tax filing ensuring compliance with all applicable taxes and prepare all necessary sales tax schedules, returns and information
- HST Accounts Reconciliation and Reconcile Withholding Tax ledger to Tax Payment/Receipt
- Assist in year-end audit
- Working closely with Financial Controller to review internal control processes, identify potential risks and implement control mechanisms. Ensure compliance with local accounting & tax regulations and policies
- Any Ad-hoc assignments
Education/Experience Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience in accounting and finance, ideally in F&B and/or retail industries or professional firms
- Bachelors or above degree in Finance or Accountancy or equivalent in pursuit of Accounting professional certificates
- Strong understanding of Canadian accounting standards and tax laws & regulations
- Solid knowledge of MS Office suite, especially Excel
- Fluent in English with good verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and proactive with ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment, and produce accurate and timely deliverables
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage different personality types
- Experience in global or multi-currency accounting environment
- Experience with Quickbooks software is a plus
