Job Overview
The Junior Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing the financial transactions, records, and statements for the organization. This role involves ensuring that financial operations comply with laws and regulations, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for management and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Post journal entries for transactions, accruals, and adjustments.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits.
- Budgeting and ensuring compliance with year to year budgets
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, accounting regulations, and internal controls.
- Coordinate with auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management for decision-making.
- Track key financial metrics and performance indicators, providing insights into cost-saving opportunities or investment strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
- CPA or similar professional certification (preferred).
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance.
- Experience with CRA and familiarities with other governing bodies
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Excel is required.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Analytical thinking with the ability to problem-solve complex financial issues.
- No hybrid or remote working, in office 5 days a week
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00-$78,000.00 per year
