Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our accounting firm. The ideal candidate will have a passion for accounting, exceptional technical skills, and a client-centered approach to delivering full-cycle bookkeeping services. This role involves managing multiple client accounts, handling complex reconciliations, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Record transactions using QuickBooks.
Perform bank reconciliations and manage complex adjustments.
Maintain and update the Chart of Accounts.
Follow up with clients to gather and manage missing documentation.
Analyze sales data and post summaries into accounting software.
Prepare financial statements with accuracy and timeliness.
File GST and PST returns for clients.
Process payroll efficiently and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Manage full-cycle bookkeeping tasks for multiple clients, including multi-entity accounts.
Proactively handle client accounts, identifying and addressing discrepancies, client needs, and process improvement opportunities.

Qualifications

Experience: 2-3 years of bookkeeping experience, with a proven ability to manage complex accounts and provide client-facing services.
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite.
Familiarity with CaseWare or taxcyle is an asset.
Soft Skills:
Exceptional organizational skills and strong communication abilities.
A collaborative mindset and ability to work well in a team environment.
Analytical Skills:
Skilled in identifying financial trends, resolving discrepancies, and applying strategic approaches to bookkeeping tasks.
Client-Centered Approach:
Builds and maintains strong client relationships.
Delivers proactive, high-quality services tailored to individual client needs.

Demonstrates excellent time-management skills and the ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
