Functional Role

The function of the Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk is to perform all accounts payable, accounts receivable and job cost tasks.

Requirements

Experience Required

Completion of a diploma or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field; and
Two or more years of accounts payable and accounts receivable, preferably in construction or a related industry.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Demonstrate strong attention to detail and data entry accuracy;
Exhibit time efficiency, and great organizational skills;
Outstanding customer service;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
High levels of competence in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and accounting software packages (Sage 50);
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; and
Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Environmental Conditions & Physical Abilities

The Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk performs assigned duties in a business office.
Must be comfortable with prolonged periods of sitting at a work station, working on a computer.

Responsibilities & Duties

Ensure that all accounts payable invoices have proper authorization for payment and enter them into the accounting system;
Verify, reconcile and process payments for all vendor statements;
Resolve vendor inquiries regarding accounts payable invoices;
Reconcile and process payments for corporate credit cards and fleet gas cards;
Invoice clients for all PO’S, VPO’S, and service repairs in accordance with company processes;
Process payments received from clients into the accounting system;
Resolve client inquiries regarding invoices;
Monitor aged accounts receivable and collect on overdue accounts;
Monitor client websites for purchase orders and completion forms, as well as updating each task with an invoice number;
Provide exceptional support in managing relations with vendors and clients;
Process all employee expenses;
Review all job files to ensure all items are invoiced, all costs are allocated correctly, request and collect any VPO’S if needed;
Answer all incoming calls, forward or relay message to the appropriate person or department, including filtering urgent matters vs solicitating;
Perform all other tasks that may be assigned by ownership;
Adhere to the company’s respectful workplace policy;
Follow the company’s health & safety policy at all times;
Ensure that all company documentation is maintained in an appropriate manner;
Maintain confidentiality of all aspects of company information; and
Uphold the vision, mission and points of culture of the company at all times.
Company office hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
