Who we are searching for:

We are seeking a part-time Legal Bookkeeper (Contractor) to temporarily join our team for an 18-month maternity leave cover. Working closely with the Founder Tim at our sole-practitioner law firm, the successful candidate will be experienced in full-cycle bookkeeping including payroll processing. The role is 10-hours per week and fully remote working with a team operating in Pacific Standard Time (PST).

You will be responsible for:

Completing all AP, AR, and monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
Processing payroll for 15 employees
Filing PST/GST
Reporting corporate income taxes at year end
Overseeing bookkeeping for commercial rental property (Six units)

This is the perfect role if you have:

5+ years of bookkeeping experience
A Bookkeeping Diploma / Certificate
Experience in processing payroll
Expertise using legal bookkeeping software
Proficiency using Excel
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal (email and phone)
The ability to find creative solutions to simple and complex problems
The drive to develop more efficient and workable processes and procedures
Impeccable accountability and organizational skills
The willingness to collaborate and work as part of a team

Bonus if you have:

Experience with legal bookkeeping
Experience using Soluno (legal bookkeeping software)
Experience using ADP Workforce-on-the-go

Hourly Rate:

$30.00 to $40.00 CAD per hour
