Senior Accounting Manager

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Senior Accounting Manager for our Drumheller, Alberta office. As an integral member of our leadership team, the Senior Manager will play a key role in driving growth, cultivating client relationships, and fostering a culture of excellence within the organization.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

Lead and manage client engagements, and provide high-quality audit, tax, and advisory services.
Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes
Review tax provisions for clients
Build positive working relationships with clients and effectively respond to request and suggestions
Assist in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies for various clients
Keep up to date on the content and practical applications of tax, accounting and assurance standards, and know how to access and research professional and technical materials
Design and review, processes, procedure, and workflow within the department
Collaborate with managers and other senior managers for capacity and resource planning

Qualifications and Experience

Completion of Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
Minimum 7 years of experience in public accounting, with a proven track record of success in client service and business development.
Strong technical skills in accounting, auditing, and tax compliance.
Experience working with Caseware/Caseview, Jazzit, Keystone, Excel, Profile
Advanced Canadian tax knowledge – personal, corporate, excise and/or Advanced knowledge on Canadian GAAPs – ASPE and ASNFPO
Ability to mentor, coach and develop junior staff
