The Ideal Candidate
An organized, driven, HEALTH & SAFETY / HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATOR with leadership skills looking for an exciting opportunity to grow your skills and experience. COR experience, administrative and payroll and/or related diploma are considered assets. Others would describe you as detail-oriented, dependable, driven, and a team player. You take initiative and would be excited to assume responsibility with the team for all aspects of construction site safety, payroll, and various administration tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Overall, the Health and Safety administrator plays a crucial role in fostering a culture of safety within our organization and reducing the risk of workplace accidents and injuries. They are responsible for maintaining compliance with regulations and protecting employees' well-being.
Health and Safety Key Responsibilities
- Communicate health and safety information effectively to employees, management, and relevant stakeholders. This may include preparing reports, conducting meetings, and maintaining documentation relating to health and safety activities
- Conduct regular site inspections
- Organize and oversee safety training sessions for employees as well as new employee orientation; ensuring awareness and adherence to safety protocols; schedule and book all refresher courses for existing employees; maintaining Employee H&S Certifications
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve health and safety performance through feedback, data analysis, and bench marking against industry standards
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and ensuring that the organization meets all legal requirements related to health and safety
- Coordinate the procurement and inventory management of safety supplies and equipment
- Maintain proper documentation for all workplace injuries and illnesses
Human Resources Key Responsibilities
- Manage and process the full cycle payroll functions
- Maintain employee records
- Administer employee benefits, including health, dental, and pension plans
- Assist with daily administration such as scheduling appointments, typing, editing, proposal writing, filing, photocopying, scanning and posting of documents and memos
· Administrative support to the project managers
· Plan and organize company-wide events, meetings, and social activities, fostering a positive and collaborative company culture
· Identify growth and training opportunities for themselves and other team members
· Continually help improve company systems and efficiencies
Monday to Thursday 7-4:30 and Friday 7-3:30

Additional Requirements
- Experience in payroll, benefits and pension administration
- Competence with Microsoft 365 such as Word, Excel and Outlook, Bluebeam and able to learn new software (i.e. SiteDocs)
- Familiarity with construction accounting – Sage 50
- Ability to communicate via phone and email
- Detail-oriented and resourceful, with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Valid driver’s license and clean record
- Endurance and ability to visit job sites, including navigating ladders and stairs (bend, squat, reach, and physically lift 50 lbs)
- Knowledge of residential, commercial and agricultural construction
- Training certificates considered as asset (i.e. Working at Heights, AWP, First Aid)
- Comprehensive knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations
