Support the finance department by accurately processing cheques, EFT transactions, bill payments and miscellaneous requisitions related to payroll, -accounts payable, travel reimbursements and purchase orders as well as Maintaining the financial filing system.
-Assist the finance department in maintaining financial management systems and procedures
-Sage Experience a must
- Process invoice and bill payments authorized by the corresponding program manager
- Ensure cheques are distributed in the appropriate manner (held for pick up, mailed, etc.)
- Follow proper procedures for reversing payments, voiding cheques, and ensuring expenses are coded to the appropriate departments
- Process bi-weekly payroll and travel claims
- Develop and maintain an accurate filing system
- Maintain accurate payroll, accounts payable and receivables records
-Prepare memos and correspondence as required for various audience groups
- Perform general administrative support as needed
- Regular and direct contact with management staff and other employees of MLCFA
-Liaise with external organizations, agencies and departments, including external auditors, suppliers, other individuals, groups or agencies
- Required to work irregular or extended hours to complete special requests or projects infrequently
- Extended hours sitting, using office equipment and attending meetings
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an accounting and/or bookkeeping environment
- Working knowledge and training of accounting software
- Strong analytical skills
-Driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle is a definite asset
- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends

- Ability to problem-solve and resolve conflict
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as written, organizational and time management skills

- Computer literacy with particular proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
-Must be willing to work in Montreal Lake 106A and Little Red 106B
- Must be willing to sign and abide by the MLCFA Inc. Code of Conduct, including an Oath of Confidentiality
- Not to be actively involved with a First Nations Child & Family Agency and/or Department of Social Services as a client receiving Family Services and/or Child Protection Services
- Must be willing to submit a current CPIC and Vulnerable Sector Check upon hiring
