Summary:
The role will report directly into the Director, Corporate Finance, and is part of the broader FP&A team at Enercare. The individual will be working closely with other parts of Finance and the Business (Product/Sales/Operations), along with various levels of stakeholders (from peers to Executives).
Responsibilities:
- Playing a key role in the preparation of the 5-year strategic business plan, including owning the preparation of the critical deliverables to communicate the strategic direction of the business and contributing key assumptions and inputs for the financial forecasts
- Maintain ownership of the long-term corporate finance valuation model in support of our strategic planning and financing initiatives;
- Development of robust financial models, including but not limited to, modelling out different corporate developments and initiatives and assessing their impact on the company’s strategic plan and valuation;
- Full ownership of the IRR and profitability models by product line
- Support product team and other business functions to prepare business cases (i.e. new product launches and/or services, and various promotions and pricing) and present to various stakeholders (including Executive Leadership Team members)
- Take ownership of the monthly forecasting and financial outlook process, while collaborating with various finance and business partners
- Preparation of executive and board presentation materials for stakeholders
- Special projects as required
- Fulfill ad-hoc requests from Private Equity sponsors
Qualifications:
- University degree in Accounting or Finance
- Professional accounting or finance designation required (ex. CPA, CFA, MFin, MBA)
- 4-7 years of progressive experience in Corporate Finance, investment banking, equity research, or valuation
- Experience in advisory (valuation or transaction services) or private equity is considered an asset
- Advanced Excel and modelling skills are required and critical; candidate must have 3-5 years of modelling experience
- Must have a solid understanding of the three-statement models, along with key profitability and liquidity metrics
- Understanding of key valuation metrics e.g. IRR, NPV, leverage multiples etc.
- Strong decision-making and analytical skills
- Experience in leading/co-ordinating materials and presentations for Boards or senior stakeholder groups
- Ability to interpret financial data to understand identify trends, assess commercial impacts, and communicate results with reference to broader corporate strategy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong presentation skills and experience communicating with the Executive Leadership
- Relationship building skills and proven ability to develop strong working relationships across an organization
- Ability to prioritize, critically analyze, solve and where appropriate, escalate issues
- A self-starter with strong attention to detail and a focus on meeting deadlines
- Advanced Proficiency with MS Office, specifically Excel, Word, and Power Point
