Overview
At Equipment Ontario we are building an accounting team to support a rapidly growing network of farm equipment dealerships across Ontario.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in collecting payments from customers on a timely basis and recording cash receipts accurately.
We’re searching for an experienced individual to join our team in either Listowel or Elmira to process, track, and record payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner and ensure customers operate within the boundaries set for them while ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication. This position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
Duties
· Gather and verify invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment
· Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared
· Perform daily cash management duties, including the recording of bank deposits, updating and distribution of cash receipt logs, and posting of cash to the accounts receivable sub-ledger
· Monitor and collect accounts receivable by contacting clients via telephone, email, and mail
· Prepare analytical and ratio analyses relevant to A/R so management can gain a better understanding of how collection efforts are progressing
· Support other accounting and finance team members, inventory management, and cost accounting
Qualifications
· Strong mathematical skills
· Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping
· Experience with accounting systems (Intellidealer would be an asset)
· Good time management and detail orientation
· Ability to keep company and partner confidences
Preferred skills and qualifications
5 years’ experience in collections and accounts receivable
