Job Summary
Reporting to assigned Partners, the HR Representative position will work collaboratively within a team to support a large client group including teaching, non-teaching, management and casual employee groups. The successful applicant may be required to work a flexible work week during peak workload periods; and other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will support with the full-cycle recruitment and selection processes including drafting and preparing postings; scheduling and conducting testing, interviews, references and sign on sessions; maintaining recruitment records and communications for an excellent candidate experience; assisting with college/university recruitment fairs and staffing related workshops; assisting with orientation programs and onboarding; responding to queries (emails, calls or in person) related to hiring and staffing processes; maintaining candidate tracking; generating, inputting and reviewing reports from Vista, Future Org and Apply to Education to assist with informing workforce planning; providing training, support and guidance; liaising with schools and departments to obtain/provide information and other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Post-secondary Diploma/Certificate/Degree related to Human Resources or successfully complete the following two (2) HR Courses: HR Management and Recruitment & Selection • Minimum one year directly related experience in Human Resources within a multi-union environment • Working knowledge and experience with HRIS (Vista) to prepare and analyze reports and process employee life cycle events in accordance with policies, procedures, collective agreements and terms and conditions and understanding of payroll, benefits and pension • Experience with continuous improvement initiatives, documenting workflow processes and providing training and support • Demonstrated initiative, problem solving, decision making, troubleshooting, technical and analytical skills • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication (both written and verbal) and documentation skills • Ability to work effectively with limited supervision and as a member of a team • Demonstrated effective coordination, organizational and planning skills • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy, ability to manage multiple priorities and meet timelines and maintain confidentiality • Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, HRIS, SharePoint) • Experience working with an Applicant Tracking System is an asset • Knowledge of relevant collective agreements, legislations, HR best practices and Board policies and procedures • Knowledge of education sector preferred • Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, anti-racism, anti-oppression and working in a diverse school community and/or work environment • Record of satisfactory-on-the-job performance while employed by the Peel District School Board
