We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Clerk to join our Payroll team. In this role, you will provide essential support to our Payroll Administrators and assist with various clerical tasks to ensure efficient payroll processing.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Payroll Administrators with data entry and payroll processing tasks.
- Maintain departmental filing and scanning efficiently and in a timely manner.
- Sort and distribute incoming mail to the appropriate team members.
- Process requests for professional documentation and generate reports as needed.
- Onboard new employees in the Dayforce system, ensuring all documentation and necessary authorizations are collected.
- Update employee information in the Dayforce system and maintain additional required records
- Track and update probationary employee lists and manage the rate review diary.
- Export, balance, and distribute weekly cost reports.
- Copy and distribute invoices to relevant team members.
- Provide customer service by processing employee information reports and addressing inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, including supervisors, managers, HR, WSIB, legal offices, and background check companies.
- Ensure the time-keeping system accurately reflects shift scheduling as advised by the department supervisor.
- Assist with managing employee deductions, including arrears for union dues.
- Input rate changes after verifying compliance with union contracts and obtaining necessary approvals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 5 years in a corporate working environment.
- Canadian Payroll experience (preferred)
- Experience with Kronos Workforce (or similar systems) and Ceridian Dayforce (preferred)
- Experience using Excel to manage data.
- Well organized with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new processes.
- Refined customer services skills and corporate professionalism.
