Overview
Nella Toronto is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our HR team. This role will require the successful candidate to be on-site 5 days a week. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting various HR functions, ensuring smooth operations within the department, and contributing to a positive employee experience. This position requires strong organizational skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Duties
- Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, and scheduling and conducting interviews.
- Responsible for completing daily attendance using system and recording all employee vacation/time off requests.
- Maintain employee records in HRIS systems, assist in employee benefits enrollment, and submit ROE's and WSIB paperwork.
- Support payroll process with office manager.
- Facilitate employee onboarding and orientation programs.
- Address employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures, fostering positive employee relations.
- Help organize training sessions and professional development initiatives for staff.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies throughout HR practices.
- Document all employee relations issues in HR records
- Any other duties required by HR Manager
Skills/Requirements
- Educational background in HR or related field (i.e., HR diploma or Degree)
- 2 years of experience in HR
- Proficiency in computers and Microsoft Suite
- Strong understanding of HR sourcing techniques and employee relations best practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
