Job Summary:
We are looking for a Controller with at least 5+ years of experience, ideally within the construction industry, to manage our company's financial operations. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of financial management specific to construction, including tax filings, cash flow management, and regulatory compliance. This role also involves managing and mentoring the accounting team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the full spectrum of financial operations, Cash Flow including HST, EHT, WSIB, and tax filings.
- Handle cash flow management and account reconciliations for accurate financial oversight.
- Prepare and submit T4 and T5 forms and ensure timely tax return submissions.
- Ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulations, particularly related to construction industry-specific financial requirements.
- Monitor financial performance, budgets, and forecasts to provide strategic insights to senior management.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accounting staff.
- Collaborate with project managers and operational teams to oversee project costs and budget adherence.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy in reporting.
- Provide leadership in financial analysis, budget forecasting, and cost control strategies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, with at least 3 years in the construction industry.
- CPA designation is required.
- Extensive experience with HST, EHT, WSIB, and other tax-related processes.
- Strong background in cash flow management, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Proven ability to lead and manage accounting teams.
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
