**Position**
We seek a Intermediate Bookkeeper to join our organization as a valued team member. This position focuses on completing client engagements and independently finalizing corporate and personal tax returns. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of accounting firm experience ,will perform full cycle bookkeeping and administrative duties.
Duties
**Full cycle bookkeeping duties**
- Prepare personal tax returns(T1s) independently for various clients (subcontractors , rental/investment properties, etc.
- Provide full cycle bookkeeping for various clients and ability to prepare draft financials /tax returns for senior manager review
- Administer payroll duties for various clients with attention to detail
- Review clients accounting records, bookkeeping. post journal entries and reconcile accounts.
- Prepare HST, ETD source deduction, WSIB, EHT returns on a timely basis.
- Prepare interim and year-end financial statements, analyses and accounting reports and budgets.
- Some office management responsibilities may be involved, if the successful candidate is so inclined (i.e. has supervisory experience).
- Liaise with clients to address inquiries and resolve issues.
**Administrative Duties**
- Collaborate with office manager and bookkeepers/staff accountants to assist in various administrative front office functions,
- Assist in billing , scheduling, call management, document management and invoicing
**Experience and Skills: **
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Canadian Public Accounting firm.
- Strong computer skills, including hands-on experience with MS Office 365, QuickBooks Desktop, Hubdoc, Visual Tax, and Profile.
- Proficiency in cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, QBO, and Wage Point is essential.
- Willingness to learn new CRM software as necessary.
- Note-taking skills are preferred but not required.
- A proactive approach to improving processes by adopting digital platforms, cloud accounting systems, and advancing remote and paperless practices.
- Flexibility to work weekends (Saturdays) and extended hours during the tax season.
- Responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and addressing all client needs directly.
- Collaborate with the reporting manager to manage client accounts and recommend solutions.
**Education: **
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field with a strong accounting background.
- Students pursuing a CPA designation are encouraged to apply.
