Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations. This role is essential in supporting the financial health of our organization and requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
- Perform bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
- Utilise QuickBooks for data entry and financial reporting.
- Assist in budgeting processes by providing necessary financial information and analysis.
- Conduct account analysis and reconciliation to ensure accuracy in financial statements.
- Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and organisation's policies.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports as required.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits to provide necessary documentation.
Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks is essential.
- Strong knowledge of accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, budgeting, bank reconciliation, account analysis, and account reconciliation.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data effectively.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with team members and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Certificate or Diploma in Bookkeeping, or related discipline
- At least five (5) years successful experience working in a business office or a related field
- Proven experience in bookkeeping, including accounts receivable and accounts payable
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks
- Strong analytical and organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial analysis
- Knowledge of payroll procedures and regulations
- Experience in the not-for-profit and museum environments are considered an asset
