Our rapidly growing Foster Care Agency (“Agency”) is looking for a self employed part-time Accounting Manager to join our team with the opportunity to grow into a full time role as the Agency grows.
Located in Madoc, we are a dynamic Agency serving a number of Children’s Aid Societies throughout Ontario. We are looking for an exceptional team player with an incomparable work ethic to join our team.
Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to execute full-cycle accounting for the Agency and support the leadership team in making key finance decisions. You will be responsible for recording and maintaining all financial transactions, including cash, cheque and wire payments, completing required tax forms, processing payroll, and generating regular reports for the Agency’s management. Our ideal candidate has worked as a professional Accountant/Bookkeeper for at least three years.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Receiving and organizing source documents
- Reconcile bank accounts on a monthly basis
- Entering transactions for bank and credit cards
- Prepare invoicing and follow up on collections
- Prepare reimbursements for foster parent expenses
- Prepare HST filings and remit proper payments
- Prepare payroll accurately with vacation and source deductions
- Prepare payroll remittances
- Prepare reimbursements for employee expenses
- Prepare documents and reports necessary for yearend review by external accountants
- Review CRA accounts and interpret various reporting requirements
- Prepare monthly financial statement package for management
- Analyze financial statements and key operating results and compare against key performance indicators
- Prepare projected cash flow statements to help management make key operating decisions
- Provide input on key finance decisions of the Agency
- Report to the office weekly to meet with management
Accounting Manager Requirements and Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in accounting, finance or relevant field preferred
- 3+ years of accounting/bookkeeping experience, certifications an asset
- Proficient with Sage 50 (Simply Accounting)
- Excellent communication and math skills
- Knowledge of payroll and bookkeeping principles
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
Compensation
- Independent contractors preferred with the opportunity to grow into full-time hours as the Agency grows
- Hourly independent contractor rates of $35/hr - $45/hr, depending on experience
