Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and a solid understanding of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliation, and budget management.
Responsibilities
- Perform general accounting duties-analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Prepare and maintain monthly financial statements and special sales reports.
- Process vendor invoices: matching, verifying, coding and entering into Sage accounting system, prepare payment
- Invoice clients based on sales order and BOL data, monitor A/R and follow up on billing discrepancies to resolve issues promptly
- Preparation of sales tax remittances (HST/GST & various provinces)
- Assist with annual audit process and tax audits, preparation of audit working papers and documents
Qualifications
- Post secondary school education in Accounting and related experience
- 3-5 years work experience in Accounting and Finance including AP and AR
- Proficiency with Sage 50, Microsoft office, specifically excel
- Highly organized to plan your day and prioritize your workload
