Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Manage end-to-end payroll for salaried, hourly, and contract employees using ADP Workforce Now.
- Employee Records: Maintain accurate records, including new hires, terminations, tax changes, and benefits deductions.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure payroll aligns with federal and provincial regulations (CPP, EI, income tax) and manage remittances.
- Year-End Reporting: Prepare and submit T4s, T4As, and ROEs according to CRA requirements.
- Audits & Reporting: Conduct regular payroll audits and generate reports for management and compliance purposes.
- Benefits and Deductions: Accurately manage payroll deductions for benefits, RRSPs, and other programs.
- Employee Support: Respond to inquiries about direct deposits, tax withholdings, and compensation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with HR and Finance on onboarding, benefits updates, and payroll reconciliations.
What Hard Skills Do You Bring?
- 2-3 years of payroll administration experience in Canada.
- Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now (or a similar platform).
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance is preferred.
- CPA (Canadian Payroll Association) designation or in progress is a plus.
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) are required.
- Familiarity with CRA regulations, year-end reporting, and ROE requirements.
- Understanding of provincial employment standards (vacation pay, overtime, statutory holidays).
