CMS Construction Management Services is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Rexton, NB. This hands-on role will be responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of accounting functions for several smaller companies, each with around 15 to 30 employees. You will work closely with a bookkeeper and report directly to senior management.
Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Residency to qualify.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and preparation of financial statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax reports and compliance documents.
- Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with external auditors and assist in audit preparation.
- Supervise and provide guidance to the bookkeeper, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all financial data.
- Assist with cash flow management, including monitoring bank accounts and coordinating with management on financial planning.
- Maintain a hands-on approach to daily operations, working directly with financial data and transaction processing.
- Participate in strategic planning and provide financial insights to support business growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with experience in a similar role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
