Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Office Manager to oversee our office operations and ensure the smooth functioning of daily activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting skills and experience with various accounting software. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a positive work environment.
Duties
- Keep financial records
- Create, maintain and balance accounts using manual and computerized systems
- Post journal entries
- Make sure that transactions are recorded in the company’s books and match bank or credit card statements (account reconciliation)
- Prepare trial balances
- Keep general ledgers
- Prepare financial statements
- Calculate and prepare paycheques, payments for utilities, taxes and other bills
- Complete and submit taxes, workers' compensation and pension contribution forms and other government documents
- Prepare statistical, financial and accounting reports
Experience
- Proven experience as an Office Manager or in a similar administrative role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, with experience in account reconciliation and analysis.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
