About Us: Lift Temp, a staffing agency, is a dynamic and growing organization dedicated to providing quality temporary workers to our customers. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team and ensure the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll.
Job Summary: The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll process for our temporary employees. This role requires a meticulous approach to ensure accuracy, compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and timely distribution of payroll. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process weekly payroll for a varying number of hourly employees by in putting hours from time sheets.
- Ensure compliance with provincial payroll legislation and labour laws.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and prepare payroll reports for management and accounting purposes.
- Handle payroll-related inquiries from employees, addressing questions about pay.
- Prepare employment letters.
- Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Process new hires, terminations, and changes to employee information in the payroll system.
- Collaborate with the Finance departments to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll legislations and best practices.
- Weekly/Monthly invoicing.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation required.
- Working towards PLP or CPA designation would be an asset.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll administration or a similar role.
- Proficiency in payroll software ADP Workforce Now (WFN), Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and Sage 300 (Accpac).
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and labour laws.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Knowledge/experience with Avionte would be an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
