Woodbourne is currently looking for an investment professional to fill a key role in its corporate head office located in downtown Toronto.
Reporting to the Vice President, Investments, the responsibilities of the Analyst, Investments include:
- Support the Investment team and senior management with decision making related to transactions by providing accurate and insightful analysis.
- Support the Investment team and senior management with decision making regarding new and existing investments through communicating and coordinating internally with the Development, Accounting, Construction, and Asset Management teams
- Conduct accurate and insightful financial analysis, including creating financial models, cash flow projections, and valuations to evaluate potential investment opportunities
- Developing, conducting, and maintaining research and market analysis on certain geographic markets and/or sectors to identify trends, opportunities, and risks
- Support the Investment team in transaction management for acquisitions and dispositions including managing the underwriting, evaluation, due diligence, negotiations, legal and tax structuring, and investment approval processes
- Prepare and review written reports to the Investment team regarding the results of pro forma analysis or for external reporting and submissions (RFP, RFQ, LOI)
- Assist in managing various third parties including consultants, lenders, lawyers, and advisors
- Actively contribute to fundraising efforts through the preparation of marketing materials and provision of data for investor communications
- Support debt financing process across the portfolio
- Review budget assumptions and assist with revenue and expense assumptions
- Calculate quarterly asset and equity valuations and prepare relevant documentation
- Other ad hoc duties as required
Qualifications:
- An undergraduate degree in Business, Real Estate, Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Economics, or another relevant program
- 1 to 3 years of Real Estate experience in: Investment Banking, Real Estate Finance, Private Equity, Fund Management, or a major lending Institution
- Excellent understanding of property valuation, financial underwriting, forecasting principles and techniques, and strong financial modelling skills
- Sound analytical and quantitative skills, rigorous attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities within tight timelines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with a high level of integrity that can gain the trust of fellow colleagues, investors, and developers
- A self-motivated individual who is proactive, takes initiative, is goal and results-oriented
- Ability to thrive in a team-based environment, with willingness to learn and receptive to feedback
