Job Summary
Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, the Payroll Administrator plays a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for Contractors and managing administrative functions related to Tractor and Trailer asset licensing, fuel imports, and fuel card management. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, compliance with contractual obligations, and adherence to legislative requirements.
This temporary contract (to December 31, 2024) role is based at our headquarters in Steinbach, Manitoba.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of Contractor Payroll, including new hires, terminations, and contract changes.
- Process and update employee information promptly, including new hires, terminations, and other changes, while adhering to data privacy and security guidelines.
- Act as backup to the Payroll Accountant for processing other weekly and bi-weekly payrolls.
- Verify and ensure payroll information aligns with contract terms and conditions.
- Address inquiries from drivers and office staff regarding payroll statements and related matters with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Daily Fuel Imports and administering fuel cards for all fleets.
- Setting up new units and retiring units in TMW.
- Licensing new units and any administering any changes required with MPI.
Education and Training
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar payroll administration role.
- Working knowledge of payroll tax and complex payroll calculations.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Great Plains) and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with TMW software considered an asset.
