Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm; Office-based role out of 80 Zenway Blvd., Vaughan, ON.
Position Objective
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing the accurate and timely processing of payroll, administering employee benefits, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. This role involves maintaining payroll records, handling employee inquiries, and collaborating with HR and Finance teams to optimize payroll and benefits processes.

What you will do in a typical day:
- Process payroll for all employees, including new hires, transfers, promotions, terminations, leave of absence, statutory holidays, deductions, Provincial and Federal taxes, garnishments, and handle payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Lead year-end payroll closing procedures, including reconciliations audit and balancing and filing all statuary required reports
- Ensure accurate, confidential and detailed administration and reporting by following regulations, collective agreements, and company policies and procedures.
- Manage employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks, and serve as the main point of contact.
What you will need to succeed at Burnac:
At a minimum, you will need:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Five (5) years of experience in payroll and benefits administration.
- Proficiency in using ADP workforce, benefits software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong knowledge of payroll and benefits regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
- Payroll designation is an asset.
- Two (2) years of general human resources experience is an asset.
