Responsibilities
Manage and execute full-cycle accounting related functions including:
o Accounts Payable
o Accounts Receivable
o Bank reconciliations
o Preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly and year end financial data
o Communicate with and liaise with outside accounting firms, as required
o Financial forecasting, including weekly cash flow
o Costing analysis and optimization
o Establish, report and communicate KPIs to management
o Bi-weekly payroll administration
o Government remittances, including EHT, HST & WSIB
o Reconciliation of credit card statements
o Assist with tracking inventory
o Provide knowledgeable expertise to ownership regarding financial matters and tax efficient strategies
o Other related duties, as required
Manage and execute HR and office administrative duties including:
o Write and post job descriptions to relevant job boards
o Review candidates
o Conduct interviews
o Onboard new employees
o Administer company benefits plan
o Assist with facilitating employee disciplinary and improvement actions
o Participate in communicating employee performance and compensation reviews, suspensions, lay-offs, dismissals and terminations, as required
o Advise management of proper HR principles and guidelines
o Assist management in determining employee compensation strategy
o Maintain existing and establish new company policies and employee contracts, as required
o Other related duties, as required
Qualifications
· Post-secondary education in related accounting field
· Minimum of 3+ years previous experience in accounting role (ideally as a controller)
· Minimum of 3+ years previous HR and office administration experience
· Strong fundamental knowledge of accounting and HR principles and procedures
· Effective communication skills, both oral and written
· Strong attention to detail
· Ability to maintain confidentiality
· Reliability – punctual and consistent record of attendance
· Commitment to working on-site
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
