Brockport Home Systems Ltd. is one of Canada’s first construction companies dedicated to advancing the design, manufacture, delivery and construction process of floor, wall, and roof components for the home building industry. We are looking for an HR & Payroll Administrator to join our growing team. This role is a combination of human resources, office, and finance functions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process regular weekly payroll, add and remove users, termination pay, vacation pay, STAT pay, produce records of employments, input bonuses, and salary adjustments;
- Oversee the employee timesheets;
- Process monthly benefits and union dues for hourly employees;
- Prepare year end payroll activities, tax adjustments and T4 generation;
- Update and maintain employee records, leaves and attendance tracking for hourly employees;
- Assist with employee forms and job letter inquiries;
- Assist with recruiting hourly and salaried staff;
- Assist with onboarding and off-boarding of staff;
- Assist with performance management initiatives;
- Manage the KPI / Incentive Program;
- Assist with printing AP cheques and mailing to vendors;
- Assist with monthly inventory count and entries
- Assist with updating and maintaining SOPs, training records and setting up certification renewals;
- Assist in daily activities, training, townhalls, employee engagement initiatives and staff socials;
- Assist with labour reporting and HR/Finance metrics;
- Act as a backup for office administrative functions;
- Assist with employee inquiries as required; and
- Any other tasks assigned by the Manager.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 2-3 years of experience in Payroll processing in a unionized and manufacturing environment is preferred;
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with the ability to articulate with accuracy and detail;
- Detail-orientated and time management skills;
- Ability to use MS Office Suite, Ceridian Dayforce HCM and SharePoint is an asset;
- Working knowledge of Employment Standards, Health and Safety Legislation, collective agreement policies and procedures; and
- Related education in Payroll processing, Human Resources, Finance, and Accounting.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT
- Indoors, sitting, standing, bending (for filing);
- Manual dexterity is needed to operate a keyboard and mouse; and
- Manufacturing environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Sitting at the computer 90% of the time; and
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds (for moving boxes of files if necessary).
