TTCA has an opening for Accounting Co-op Student. This position is part of the Accounting Department.
Job Summary:
The accounting co-op student works within the accounting department to perform daily accounts payable and general accounting activities. This person requires strong organizational skills and high attention to detail to ensure deadlines are met.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Daily Account Payable (A/P) tasks -print invoices, matching, vouchers, entering, scanning, filing.
- Review account statements, update reports and other record and review for accuracy
- Prepare monthly journal entries as required
- Preparation and review of monthly cheque runs
- Review and record Fixed Assets
- Maintain documentation for compliance to policies and procedures for internal audits
- Cross training with other roles in the department for vacation coverage
Key skills and Characteristics:
Enrolled in college/university for accounting/business
- Efficient, organized, and able to produce high quality work under pressure and in a timely fashion
- Strong work ethic and sense of responsibility and confidentiality
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a wide range of office/plant team members
- High attention to detail, accuracy
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office
