Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Bookkeeper at R.L. Electric Motor Re-Winding in Lloydminster, AB. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining financial records, including preparing and analyzing financial statements, managing bookkeeping tasks, using accounting software (Quickbooks and SOSInventory), and creating journal entries. The role requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with the operations and finance team.
Reporting to the CFO, the Bookkeeper will be the main preparer, and first level reviewer of accounting information
- Manage all aspects of bookkeeping, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory management, cost management, payroll, bank reconciliations, etc.
- Prepare and file monthly and quarterly tax remittances including GST/HST, source deductions, etc.
- Assist the CFO in the month-end process and ensure books are closed timely and accurately.
- Prepare draft financial statements monthly, ensuring they are ready for review no later than 10 days after month-end.
- Generate managerial and financial reports to assist the CFO and CEO in internal decision-making processes.
- Diligently follow up with customers on accounts receivable, ensuring timely collections.
- Ensure prompt payments to vendors and other liabilities.
- Maintain organized and accessible accounting records.
- Support external financial review processes, collaborating with external accounting firms.
- Proactively identify and alert management to any issues within the accounting system, especially delays or discrepancies.
- Undertake any other ad-hoc projects or responsibilities as deemed necessary by the CFO or management.
The successful candidate will have:
- Post-Secondary education in accounting
- 3+ years of experience as a professional bookkeeper
- High proficiency using accounting software. Bonus points if the candidate has experience using SOSInventory
- Strong technical skills in bookkeeping, payroll, and inventory management skills
- High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles
- Flexibility, adaptability, and a growth mindset.
