Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance to oversee all financial aspects of the municipal government. The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial planning, analysis, and reporting for the municipality, including extensive reporting to senior governments and other funders.
Duties:
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support municipal capital and operational planning
- Lead the finance team in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
- Conduct cost management and risk analysis to optimize financial performance
- Manage account reconciliation, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes
- Oversee financial services, including risk management and business development initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA preferred
- Proven experience in a finance leadership role, particularly in a municipal government environment
- Strong understanding of financial principles and practices
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in financial software and MS Office Suite
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
