Job Title: Personal/Admin Assistant
Job Description:
A couple running independent businesses in the arts is seeking a flexible, self-motivated, and organized Personal/Admin Assistant with an upbeat attitude to join their small, tight-knit team.
Position Details:
The role is based from a home/office and encompasses a variety of regular and day-to-day tasks. The ideal candidate should be eager for new challenges and learning opportunities, and should be able to work effectively both independently and collaboratively. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Personal bookkeeping
- Banking and bill payments
- Managing home and auto maintenance (hiring contractors, overseeing repairs, etc.)
- Scheduling and booking appointments
- Travel arrangements
- Running errands
- Personal shopping
- Answering phones and emails
- Shipping and mailing
- Filing
- Data entry
- Social media management
- Assisting in project promotion
- Archiving
- Conducting research
- Note-taking
- House-sitting
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel
- Excellent telephone communication and writing skills
- Exceptional time management and problem-solving abilities
- Reliability, responsibility, and a personable nature
- Comfort with cats (house-sitting involves caring for two long-haired cats) and a large, friendly dog who is in the office most days
Post-secondary education and a background in the arts are considered assets.
Compensation:
This position offers hourly compensation for a three-month trial period, with the potential to transition to a permanent, salaried position. The role is primarily part-time, ranging from 16-24 hours per week (2-3 days per week), with occasional full-time weeks (Monday-Friday, 10 am-5 pm) to cover absences.
