We are currently hiring a Maternity Leave coverage to Join our Payroll and Finance division in our Corporate office in Langley.
The successful candidate will love the details, be diligent in following process and thrive under deadlines! They will also understand the importance of customer service, and have a ‘team’ attitude and the ability to roll up their sleeves and help where is needed.
Payroll and Benefits key accountabilities
- Prepare, verify, and process all employee payroll related payments (union and non union locations)
- Complete, verify and process forms and documents for administration of benefits such as RRSP plans, leave, employment and medical insurance.
- Prepare payroll related filings and supporting documentation, such as year-end tax statements (T4 and T2200), BC EHT, WorkSafe BC Form 7 claims, Records of Employment, and other statements.
- Import payroll records into accounting software
- Prepare Monthly Wage and WCB accruals and enter in accounting software
- Reconcile Benefits statements and enter into accounting software
- Remit, WorkSafe BC, Union dues and RRSP within the deadlines.
- Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies.
Accounting/Finance key accountabilities
- Monthly Bank reconciliations
- GST Preparation
- Sales and deposit reconciliations
- Misc accounts payable entries
- Provide additional support to the wider finance team
About You
- Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) accreditation
- 2+ years minimum payroll experience
- Solid knowledge of payroll compliance, basic accounting principles and accounting functions is required.
- General knowledge of BC and Federal Employment Standards and WorkSafe BC insurance.
- Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with little direct supervision.
- Ability to accurately work under pressure in meeting deadlines.
- Must have excellent organizational skills.
- Must be proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook applications.
- Must adhere to a strict code of conduct regarding confidentiality. Must keep confidential matters related to salaries, wages, personal information, medical issues, disciplinary actions, terminations for cause, and any other privileged employee information

Contract length: 15 months
Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
