Bookkeeper - Volunteer
Basket Brigade Canada is a charitable organization committed to improving the quality of life of persons living by providing meals and other necessities of life. Reporting to the President & CEO, the Bookkeeperwill play a role in supporting the Basket Brigade Canada Head Office in organizing transactions. This includes using our accounting software QuickBooks. This role requires someone with strong organization skills and a passion for doing things accurately and efficiently. Key Responsibilities
- Part time volunteer work.
- Organize our receipts and transactions.
- Enter, categorize and reconcile items into QuickBooks.
- Review bank statements monthly and ensure accuracy.
- Prepare reports when required.
- Qualifications:
- University or College graduate.
- 3-5 years bookkeeping experience and using QuickBooks.
- Previous experience with a community-based agency and/or not-for-profit agency.
- Excellent problem-solving, priority-setting, analytical and organizational skills with an attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills, including well-developed proposal-writing and presentation abilities.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and keen sense of diplomacy with the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Results-driven and client-focused, with the ability to follow through on commitments and adapt to change.
- Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as a team player when required.
- Resourceful and creative, with the ability to think “outside the box”.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks.
