Bookkeeper - Volunteer

Basket Brigade Canada is a charitable organization committed to improving the quality of life of persons living by providing meals and other necessities of life. Reporting to the President & CEO, the Bookkeeperwill play a role in supporting the Basket Brigade Canada Head Office in organizing transactions. This includes using our accounting software QuickBooks. This role requires someone with strong organization skills and a passion for doing things accurately and efficiently. Key Responsibilities

Part time volunteer work.
Organize our receipts and transactions.
Enter, categorize and reconcile items into QuickBooks.
Review bank statements monthly and ensure accuracy.
Prepare reports when required.
Qualifications:
University or College graduate.
3-5 years bookkeeping experience and using QuickBooks.
Previous experience with a community-based agency and/or not-for-profit agency.
Excellent problem-solving, priority-setting, analytical and organizational skills with an attention to detail.
Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills, including well-developed proposal-writing and presentation abilities.
Exceptional interpersonal skills and keen sense of diplomacy with the ability to maintain confidentiality
Results-driven and client-focused, with the ability to follow through on commitments and adapt to change.
Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as a team player when required.
Resourceful and creative, with the ability to think “outside the box”.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks.
