We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our finance team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Payment Processing: Record and process incoming payments, ensuring all transactions are accurately documented. (Cheques, EFT’s, and Credit Card payments)
- Scanning and Filing: Scan, file, and organize invoices, attach ‘Proof of Delivery’, and e-mail all invoices to customers on a daily basis.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts receivable ledgers to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
- Customer Relations: Communicate with customers to follow up on outstanding invoices, resolve billing issues, retrieve POD’s and ensure timely payments.
- Reporting: Generate and analyze accounts receivable reports to identify trends and provide insights to management.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures, including credit policies and internal controls.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts receivable transactions (Cheques, EFT’s, Credit Cards).
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the finance team and other departments to support overall financial goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounts receivable or a similar role, preferably within the trucking or logistics industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in software (e.g., Navision, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail in financial record-keeping and reporting.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies and billing issues efficiently.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Customer Service: Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to account management.
Preferred Skills:
- Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the trucking and logistics industry and its financial practices.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports.
- Software & Computer Proficiency: Excel and Navision
