McCrae Recruiting is seeking a Finance Coordinator for our client in the Durham region. The ideal candidate will have strong financial acumen and exceptional organizational skills.
Job Duties
- Administer and coordinate financial systems and processes: general ledgers, accounts payable/receivable, payroll & benefits, statutory remittances, insurance, and budget monitoring.
- Monitor and record all cash disbursements, expenditures, and receipts, ensuring timely, effective, and accurate record-keeping.
- Ensure adherence to financial transaction policies, including cheque requisitions, budgetary expenditures, pay, and benefits.
- Maintain banking systems and insurance arrangements.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and remittances from all departments.
- Advise on and maintain investments, financial instruments, loans, and lease agreements.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and policy regimes for financial matters.
- Perform month-end and year-end procedures, including reconciliations and preparing working papers for audits.
- Coordinate and assist external auditors during audit fieldwork.
- Maintain Finance Office filing and record-keeping systems.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and other private information.
- Process expense claims.

Job Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience with a Professional accounting designation (CPA) or equivalent education and full cycle accounting experience with in-depth understanding of Canadian accounting principles.
- Experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Invoicing, and General Ledger.
- Knowledge and experience with Payworks (or equivalent payroll software) and in-house payroll processing.
- Strong computing skills, particularly in Word and Excel.
- Solid experience with financial systems, reporting, business planning, and budget preparation.
- Ability to work independently in a multi-task environment within clear timelines.
- Strong interpersonal and cooperative working skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
