We are looking for an Accounting Supervisor to join our Finance Department at ICON Digital Productions. Reporting directly to the Controller, the ideal candidate is someone with a proven track record of managing and coordinating the provision of general accounting and reporting services. This person understands and is excited about how their role is critical to the company’s overall vision and mission. In addition to overseeing day-to-day and month-end accounting, reporting, analysis and control activities, this candidate has a demonstrated proficiency in a cross-divisional leadership role to drive the highest levels of performance and value.
Primary Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to, and are subject to change:
- Manage daily accounting operations across all company divisions and assist with preparation of monthly financial statements ensuring that all reporting requirements are accurate and timely
- Perform day-to-day processing of accounts receivable/payable to ensure finances are maintained in an effective, up-to-date and accurate manner.
- Research and resolve escalated customer and employee inquiries regarding problem billings and invoices, always striving for good customer relations and timely issue resolution.
- Follow up on and escalate aged sub ledger and claims pending receivables, ensuring that all 90 day receivable balances are zero or minimal
- Review all balance sheet reconciliations, vendor reconciliations and their aging on a monthly/quarterly basis.
- Conduct meetings as required to discuss and resolve accounting issues, process improvements and identify risks proposing solutions and escalating as appropriate.
- Maintain and manage corporate ERP system and other applications, assist team members with projects and activities utilizing these applications.
- Use Sage/Lift ERP regularly to manage financial, process transactions, consolidate and analyze.
- Preparation of monthly Gov’t Remittances
Skills and Experience
- University or college degree in Accounting/Finance
- 5-7 years of increasing responsibility in a supervisor role
- Proficient in financial accounting software (Sage), as well as Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word
- Motivated self-starter who works as a supportive team player
- Excellent presentation skills
- Proven track record of relationship building with employees at all levels of the organization
- Superior judgment in accounting, governance, and related operational issues
- Ability to work well under pressure with multiple priorities to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical, organization, planning and execution skills
- Working towards CPA accounting designation (an asset)
