Position Summary
Accounts Payable plays a crucial role in our organization by ensuring the timely payment of all claims and trade payables. Our dynamic team is dedicated to managing financial transactions efficiently and accurately. By diligently processing invoices and verifying payment details, we help maintain strong relationships with our suppliers and vendors. With our attention to detail and commitment to meeting payment deadlines, we contribute to the smooth operation of our company's financial processes. Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities
Performs activities associated with accounts payable, including but not limited to:
- Processing various types of cheques, including daily claim, weekly disability, monthly & interim pension, and semi-monthly reciprocal cheques
- Coding, entering, printing, and mailing of trade payables for all companies in the general ledger
- Sending invoices to Consultants for approval and issuing payments to vendors upon receipt
- Maintaining accurate vendor records
- Resolving any issues or concerns raised by vendors
- Tracking and managing the inventory of cheque stock
- Securing Trustee approval for Trust payables
- Keeping up-to-date guidelines for signing authority and trustees' expense schedule for all Trust Funds
- Providing general accounting support as necessary
- Preparing and organizing filing and document archives
Requirements
- High School Diploma (accounting certificate or diploma is considered an asset)
- 3 - 5 years prior experience with accounts payable
- Demonstrated experience in financial accounting and reporting (minimum two years of relevant work experience)
- Working knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and accounting principles
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent mathematical, reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills as well as the ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities
- Able to maintain confidentiality related to client and business matters
- Excellent interpersonal skills; strong written and oral communication skills
- Successful completion of a background check is required.
