Position Summary
An exciting opportunity exists in our Calgary office for a Senior Financial Analyst (FP & A).
The purpose of this position is to support the strategic business decisions, through executing and reviewing various forward looking board and executive reports, as well as financial modeling to contribute to broader investment and strategic decisions.
This is a hybrid role, working both remotely and in the office based out of Calgary office, following Sherritt’ s Flexible Work Arrangements Policy.
Accountabilities
- Lead the budget, forecast and long range plan process for the Oil & Gas and Power division
- Manage development/updates/maintenance of the Oil & Gas and Power financial models
- Coordinate schedules and deliverables relating to monthly forecasting
- Prepare monthly reports and presentations related to forecasts for management
- Prepare monthly variance analysis for EBITDA, cash flow and unit costs
- Support FP&A continuous improvement initiatives
- Support Global FP& A team as needed
- Ad-hoc reports as needed
Qualifications and Skills
- University degree in business or a related field, with a CPA designation or working towards a professional designation
- 3 - 5 years of progressive related working experience
- Experience in natural resources sector is considered an asset
- Advanced excel skills, with experience in working with complex financial models
- Demonstrated time management skills to meet deadlines as well as flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders across the organization
- Commitment to deadlines and attention to detail
- Able to perform self-guided work with limited direct supervision
