Property Accountant Opportunity - Commercial | Vaughan (Onsite Role) | $75,000 - $85,000
Focus: An Accountant working in close cooperation with our Property Management and Leasing group to maintain accurate financial records for a portfolio of properties. You will be part of a small dynamic work environment which provides learning and collaborative opportunities in all aspects of property management. This is a full time in office role.
Responsibilities
- Property management accounting (including preparing cheques, coding and posting invoices, tenant deposits, journal entries, account reconciliations)
- Preparation of tenant chargebacks
- Review of monthly rental charges, AR balances and follow up of arrears with tenants
- Timely and accurate preparation of bank reconciliations, HST and other filings as necessary
- Daily cash management
- Timely submission of monthly financial reports
- Prepare annual CAM/Tax recovery billings in accordance with tenant leases
- Prepare rental notices for new tenancies and annual rent charges
- Prepare lease summaries to note critical dates and key lease clauses for accuracy of billings and compliance with lease terms
- Work with property management to prepare the annual property budget
- Preparation of year end working paper files
- Fulfill ad-hoc financial analysis for senior management group
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years of commercial property management accounting experience is required.
- Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Excel is required.
- Exposure to Yardi is an asset
