Join our Toronto based accounting team as an Accounts Payable Specialist. This is a great opportunity for someone who is a stickler for details, extremely organized, and a fast learner. Direct related experience is great but not essential if you have related administrative or bookkeeping experience. You, along with the rest of the Accounts Payable team, report to our Manager of Treasuryand work as part of our accounting department to deliver financial reporting and analysis to the senior managers across our firm.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Accounts payable processing for multiple related companies, including: the coding & costing of invoices to appropriate accounts, obtaining approval for payment, checking invoices, data entry, as well as the printing & distribution of cheques and submitting electronic payments
- Accounts payable maintenance including: reconciling vendor statements, following up on outstanding invoices and credit notes, and maintaining paper-based vendor files
- Intercompany account reconciliations and invoicing
- Processing and entering employee expense reports using SAP Concur
- Completing credit applications
- Ad hoc projects pertinent to accounts payable
- Assisting other accounting team members as requested with tasks of a clerical or administrative nature
What You Bring
- One to three years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping capacity. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, along with strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Positive attitude and the ability to work cooperatively with others
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics GP (familiarity with Multicurrency & Intercompany functions is preferred), Yardi Accounting software, and/or SAP Concur is an asset
- Understanding of applicability of GST/HST/QST to invoices in various provinces is an asset; additionally, knowledge of UK VAT is highly advantageous
- Strong MS Excel skills are necessary; you need to demonstrate that you are currently using Excel on a regular basis as part of your current role
- Post-secondary accounting or bookkeeping courses would be valuable (it’s good if you know your debits from your credits)
- Experience working within financial services is considered an asset, particularly within an Asset Management Organization
