As our business continues to expand, we are looking for a dedicated Senior Bookkeeper/Controller to oversee our financial operations and contribute to shaping the company’s financial success.
This is a unique opportunity for a tech-savvy professional with a hands-on approach, eager to grow alongside a dynamic company. Experience in manufacturing is a plus but not required.
Job Overview:
The Senior Bookkeeper/Controller will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations while also playing a key role in the company’s strategic financial planning and business analysis. This includes bookkeeping, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, as well as offering key insights to support decision-making. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is excited to optimize systems and processes for growth and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Business Insights: Provide regular financial reports and strategic insights to leadership, helping to drive informed decision-making and align financial goals with broader company objectives.
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections, providing actionable insights to support business decisions.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with leadership to evaluate financial performance and trends. Assist in long-term business planning, helping to shape financial strategies for sustainable growth.
- Cost Analysis: Work closely with the operations team to track and optimize production costs, leveraging business analysis skills to identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance profitability.
- Operational Efficiency: Evaluate and recommend improvements to financial systems and processes to ensure optimal efficiency and accuracy.
- Compliance & Audits: Ensure compliance with tax regulations and all relevant financial reporting standards. Assist with audit preparation and provide necessary documentation.
- Day-to-Day Financial Operations: Manage the full scope of daily financial activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA designation is a bonus).
- 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial management roles.
- Strong background in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience in manufacturing, agriculture, or related industries is a bonus.
- Strong understanding of financial processes, systems, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with leadership and cross-functional teams.
- A self-starter with a “roll up your sleeves” attitude and willingness to dive into details.
