Payroll Specialist Opportunity
Location: Burlington - Hybrid 3 days a week in office
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our clients team. This role is integral to ensuring our organizations payroll processes run seamlessly, comply with all regulations, and contribute to an excellent employee experience.

Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Administration
- Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable federal and provincial regulations.
- Manage payroll adjustments, including vacation pay, sick leave, overtime, and bonuses.
- Address and resolve payroll discrepancies efficiently.
- Prepare and submit statutory remittances, including income tax, EI, CPP, and other government requirements.
Benefits Administration
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, life insurance, and retirement savings plans.
- Support employees with benefits enrollment, claims, and inquiries.
- Collaborate with external benefits providers to resolve issues and maintain service excellence.
Reporting & Record-Keeping
- Maintain accurate payroll and benefits records to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Generate regular and ad hoc reports for management and prepare year-end documentation (e.g., T4s, T4As).
Compliance & Audits
- Ensure all payroll activities adhere to federal and provincial regulations.
- Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and insights.
HR Support
- Collaborate with the HR team on onboarding, offboarding, payroll setup, and benefits enrollment.
- Provide administrative support as needed to enhance team operations.
Qualifications:
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration.
- Proficiency in payroll software (experience with ADP Workforce Now is an asset) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of Canadian payroll legislation, including multi-provincial requirements.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification is preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and discretion in handling sensitive information.
