Position: Senior Accountant

Looking specifically for candidates that have experience working for a Public Accounting Firm. Duties focused on preparation of Year-Ends/Compilations/NTR's.

The accounting firm of MPS Partners is currently seeking an experienced Senior Accountant. This position will act as an Senior Accountant working under the direction of a Partner.

At MPS Partners, we strive to provide a range of accounting services to a diverse array of businesses.

Responsibilities

Prepare year-end engagements and personal/corporate tax returns
Plan and execute work related to Assurance and Accounting and income tax engagements
Prepare financial statements that comply with accounting standards
Able to effectively respond to client requests and suggestions related to the engagement
Draft reports and responses to client queries for manager review
Maintain communication between partners and other team members on an ongoing basis of progress and significant issues

Qualifications

5 years of public accounting and audit experience
Self-starter, able to work independently
Great interpersonal communication skills and is highly effective in developing trusted relationships in person, over video and/or phone, and through written communications
Knowledge and experience of accounting standards, IFRS and Canadian Tax
Well-organized with ability to prioritize
Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving ability
Knowledge of CaseWare, CaseView, TaxPrep, iFirm, and Microsoft Office considered an asset

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
