This position will be based out of our Edmonton Office for a 3 months training period, and then will be based primarily out of our Head Office in Opal, AB (Approximately 40-45 minute drive from North Edmonton).

Purpose

Reporting to the Controller, the Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the daily administration and management of the Company’s procure-to-pay process (P2P).

Duties and Responsibilities

Execute the P2P workflow, ensuring timely processing and payment of vendor invoices
Communicate and follow up with vendors on related queries and issues
Review and post purchase invoices for processing and payment in a digitalized environment
Reconcile payments to the general ledger and post transactions to the balance sheet, profit/loss and other reports as necessary
Maintain an organizational system for purchase documents, payment batches and remittance advices
Maintain the Company’s vendor list and billing information by onboarding new suppliers, updating credit applications, etc.
Assist the Finance team with other projects and tasks as required

Skills, Education, & Knowledge

2+ years’ experience in a similar role or full-cycle accounting
Two-year diploma in accounting or business considered an asset but not a requirement
Process-oriented with a logical mindset, using reasoning to solve problems
High level of accuracy and attention to detail with an ability to analyze and process high volumes of financial data
Possess the ability to work alongside all members of the Finance team and external service providers
Superior organization skills and ability to work independently within agreed timelines
Proficiency using relevant accounting software and Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and SharePoint
Experience within the mining or manufacturing industry and full-cycle accounting would all be considered assets

Salary: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
