The Opportunity:

Our client in the manufacturing sector is looking for a Junior Accountant to join their team in Windsor-Essex, Ontario. Reporting to the Controller, this role will be responsible for performing month-end activities, cost analysis, and inventory requirements. This is a full-time, permanent role and is fully on-site.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

Resolving discrepancies as it relates to purchase orders, contract, invoice, or payment.
Performing a monthly review of accounts payable and applying open credits when necessary.
Calculating and posting accruals for expenses that have not been invoiced.
Processing and posting all wire payments for accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
Acting as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries and payment-related issues.
Maintaining balanced intercompany accounts and reconciling any discrepancies.
Performing analysis of General Ledger accounts as required.
Overseeing capsule inventory needs and conducting cost analysis.
Managing fixed assets ledger and depreciation schedules.
Invoicing affiliate companies for intercompany transactions, accurately recording transactions in the general ledger.
Monthly reconciliation of inventory records with third-party warehouses and addressing any discrepancies.
Assisting the System Inventory Control Analyst with entering of production data.
Providing clerical support to the Purchasing Clerk and assisting with orders.

The Ideal Candidate:

Post-secondary education in Business, preferably with a focus in Accounting.
3+ years of experience in accounting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams.
Experience with Accounting software including Sage, Mass, Excel.
Extensive knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory.
Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
Strong problem-solving abilities, communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Complimentary Experience:

Experience using an ERP system.
Previous accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
