As a Junior Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the finance department with daily operations and a variety of financial tasks. Your main responsibilities will include managing financial transactions, preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and delivering insightful analysis to inform decision-making. You'll collaborate closely with the team to ensure financial accuracy and contribute to the company's growth. This position reports directly to the CFO.

This is a hybrid position based in either Ottawa area (Ontario), Gatineau (Quebec), or Charlottetown (Prince Edward Island).

Key Responsibilities:

· Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement analysis for Sentry and its parent company.

· Prepare month-end close activities, such as allocations, accruals, and deferrals, in compliance with ASPE standards.

· Assist in compiling, analyzing, and providing commentary for monthly, quarterly, and annual management and investor reports.

· Contribute to review and audit engagements.

· Identify and resolve accounting issues and discrepancies as they arise.

· Prepare and file government returns and related documents.

· Support the application process, reporting, and claims for various government-funded projects.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

· Solid experience with QuickBooks Online.

· Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance standards.

· In-depth understanding of general ledger management.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.

· 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience.

Salary Range:

Salary range of $45,000 to $65,000, based on experience and qualifications.
