Overview:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Accounting Technician to join our team full-time. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of bookkeeping, tax preparation, and accounting systems, with a strong desire to continue learning and growing in the field. The role requires experience in corporate and personal tax return preparation, knowledge in bookkeeping, proficiency in QuickBooks, and full knowledge of Excel and MS/Google Suite/PDF editor.

This position is a fully remote position for candidates available to start immediately. Priority will be placed for candidates in the Greater Vancouver area - in person interviews may be requested. Successful candidates will be required to provide criminal check records.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Preparation of corporate and personal tax returns under supervision, with the opportunity to develop deeper tax expertise
Complete year-end bookkeeping and accounting under supervision
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Assist with tax advisory projects and calculations by utilizing Excel and Google/MS Suite
Collaborate with the team to ensure all financial records meet compliance and reporting standards
Participate in ongoing learning related to tax legislation and accounting best practices
Perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed

Requirements:

Experience with corporate and personal tax return preparation
Work experience in bookkeeping and accounting
Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel and MS/Google Suite
Strong organizational and communication skills
Attention to detail and ability to multitask
Willingness to continue learning and adapting to new accounting technologies and tax regulations
A professional attitude with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality
Previous experience working in an accounting firm is a plus
Knowledge of tax software such as TaxCycle is an asset
