Role Description

We are seeking a full-time, on-site Staff Accountant for George Khalil CPA in Oakville, ON. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, reconciling accounts, and assisting with tax preparation, reviews, compilations and audits.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and complete working paper files and financial statements.
Prepare Compilation reports.
File various tax returns and government filings, including T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, GST, ETD, WSIB, EHT, and others.
Perform general bookkeeping and payroll duties.
Review files with minimal supervision.
Ensure tasks are completed within budget and meet deadlines.

Qualifications and Skills:

Experience in a public accounting firm is preferred.
Proficiency with accounting software, such as Caseware, QuickBooks, and Cantax, is an asset.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent time management, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
A commitment to teamwork, client service, and maintaining professionalism.

Job Type:

Contract with potential for permanent employment.

Monday to Friday (with additional hours on Saturdays during tax season, as required).

Experience:

Minimum 1 year of experience in a public accounting firm (Canadian experience not required).

Pay:

$18 to $22 per hour, based on experience.
